Barolo Sarmassa Marchesi di Barolo 2013

Barolo Sarmassa Marchesi di Barolo 2013 Alcohol content 14% vol. 100% Nebbiolo grapes. A portion OF the wine IS aged two years IN 30-35 hl oak casks, the rest IS aged IN oak barriques. After that it IS blended IN large barrels AND THEN IN bottle TO finish its aging process. The colour IS garnet red, bright AND WITH an excellent density. The aromas ARE complex AND elegant, WITH clear hints OF dried rose, crushed blackberry AND raspberry, violet, licorice, rain-soaked earth, nutmeg, sandalwood, dark tobacco AND  cinchona. The taste IS FULL, vigorous, WITH tannins still biting. Lingering aroma OF fruit, fine wood AND richness OF flavour. Great wine but still TO evolve FOR many years. Try it WITH braised venison OR pheasant stuffed WITH truffles.
